[…] As a business owner or manager you have probably spent most of your business life battling the competition, winning some and loosing some, as you have kept your business viable and profitable. Like many, you have probably found these battles to have become tougher and more frequent in recent years, as the business world continues to evolve and change, and new ways of doing business start to severely impact on the old ways. This excellent and thought provoking artice, suggests that it is probably time that business owners started to evolve their business model to focus more on co-operation than constant competition, and it offers examples to show that adopting a more co-operative culture can pay dividends for your business. […]

It is a much flatter structure when there are three of you - more time to focus on what matters to your customers!

I really loved this paragraph:

If you are a systems thinker, you might sometimes feel you are going a little crazy. We still live in command-and-control land and our assumptions haven’t caught up to the realities of the world. If you have begun to act and talk like a systems thinker, you may be treated a little like the court jester. Actually, I’d say it was closer to the boy who declared the emperor wasn’t wearing any clothes.

It is just so true, everything I knew about managing, incident handling, activity based costing, reporting, recruiting, team management, motivation etc just all went up in smoke - people do think you have gone mad...It is kind of a curse if you work in a very top down C&C organisation and one voice is often not enough!
